Hi
I am looking for any info on a Charles Surine Sr. He was supposed to have been married to Unknown Robinson, sister of a Colonel Beverly Robinson (a major under Wolfe at Quebec in 1759 and a Tory in the Revolutionary War).
Their son was Charles Surine Jr. b. abt 1754 in Westchester Co. NY, & d. abt 1843 in NY.
Charles enlisted in 1776 in the Dutchess Co. Militia in a regiment commanded by Colonel Jacobus Swartwout.
The Surine name has also been spelled with 2 R's as Surrine
Charles Jr. was married to a Polly Smith, b. abt 1760 in Westchester Co. NY and d. January 09, 1856 in Ny, she was buried in Kent Baptist Church, Putnam Co. NY.
Charles & Polly had 4 children that we know of, Sarah, John, Peter, & Phoebe .
Any info on either Charles would be great, but especially Charles Sr. as we have been at a standstill for a while. Anything on parents, siblings if any, where and when born, who he married and when.

I have a copy of your grandfather's family history
compilation, and have been working on our genealogy
since 1986. In fact, we met your grandmother at her house
and she shared the albums and information your
grandfather had collected. Although some of your
questions are still unanswered, much has been learned. I
have, in fact, written 3 manuscripts on the family, including
the variants SIRRINE and SARINE. I will contact you directly,
and please feel free to do likewise.
