I am trying to discover some information on my great great grandparents, William & Katherine (McKinnon)Halliwell who lived in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. in the 1850s. I found them in the 1880 census, but that is all I've found. They had 2 children, Lillian (married Thaddeus Crane Wakeman & died in childbirth in 1886, and Irving. William & Katherine immigrated from England, but I do not know any town. I would be most grateful for any information. Thank you,
Nancy Smyth

Hi, I have been doing reserch on a man named Nicholas Disbrow who lived in my house in Wappingers Falls in 1869. He had a foundry in town that was named Eagal Foundry but it was later changed to Disbrow and Halliwell. Mr Halliwell had a financial and advisory interest only in the buisness as he had a full-time position as Master Mechanic in the Dutchess Print Works. According to the census he lived only a few houses away from mine.
I hope this helps,Rebecca
