I cannot find any information on my grandparents,
Thomas Edward Blythe and Irma Osborn Blythe. Right now, I do not even have their birth or death dates. They were living in Oklahoma City,
OK when their only child, my father, Kelly F. Blythe, was born. They moved to Tulsa, OK where
both passed away --- grandfather before 1960 and
grandmother after 1960. Need help desperately!

You should start by sending to the State of OK for their death certificates. If you know an approximate period and place of death, they will search for them. You can download the application and details from the web. I don't remember the exact web address but I found it with a search. The death certs cost $10 and if are complete will have birth, death dates and places and names and birthplaces of parents.
Good Luck!

My William T. has been a brick wall for 10 years! I have read on some message boards that some male Blythe's, were running from the law in Arkansas and took there mother's maiden name HOLLAND, and hot footed it to TEXAS!

http://genforum.genealogy.com/blythe/messages/191.html

I wonder, could my William be your Thomas's brother??? Were they in some kind of trouble?

Wouldn't it be neat if we were related in this mysterious way??

Lemuel Moses Blythe and his brother Frank were on the run from the law, in Arkansas, after a shoot-out with a neighbor over a land deal that went wrong.

This was in the late 1800's.

Lemuel changed his name to Holland, and he moved North into Washington County, AR.

He had a big family, which still meets at Pine Log cemetery, South of Ft. Smith to have reunions. Pine Log cemetery contains the remains of Lemuel's ancestors: Jacob Blythe, etc.

Lemuel Moses Blythe/Holland and his wife and children are buried in Wedington cemetery, Wedington, AR. And one of his daughters, Cordelia Mensch is buried at Old Union cemetery, in Cincinnati, AR.

My father told me a story his father passed on to him of our family clan. They came from Scotland and before that were saxon. The story is of a fight within the family clan spliting the family in two. Some of the family lost the E from their name, my dad doesnt know why they were fighting and I can't find anymore info. My father also tells me my grandad and great-grandad say there is a certain way to pronounce our name. So I carry the tradition on myself and correct people when they pronounce it wrong. If anybody knows of the story can you please leave a message thanks.

I am searching for information on my Grandfather, William Blythe. I believe he was born in 1874 (possibly in Bracken KY). I found a census record from 1880 that shows a William Blythe age 6, living with his Grandparents Samuel and Jane Sanders Blythe. He appears to have 7 brothers and sisters (all living with the grandparents). I can not find out who the parents were or what happened to them. (Why the children were living with their grandparents). The siblings listed were Amanda Blythe age 22 (in 1880), Melissa Blythe age 22, Nora Blythe age 21, Thomas Blythe age 16, William Blythe age 6 and Clara Blythe age 4. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Marilyn
